10 Binge Worthy Anime on Netflix

There is a metric ton of content on Netflix, not least of which is lots of good quality anime. Below are 10 of my go-to binge worthy anime’s available for streaming now on Netflix with links so you can start watching right now!
10. Mushishi
Mushishi makes the list because it’s absolutely beautiful. Ginko goes from town to town searching out “Mushi”. These Mushi are otherworldly beings more or less. In each town he makes a living trying to solve the problems that arise from the Mushi’s going awry. Mushishi is episodic so don’t worry which order you watch it in. Do yourself a favor; just sit down and fall in love!
9. Bleach
Bleach is a mainstay among anime lovers. Ichigo starts out as a normal teenage boy who just happens to be able to see ghosts. One day he runs into Rukia Kuchiki. His life takes a drastically different turn after he ends up absorbing Rukia’s powers. You’ll get hooked pretty quick watching Ichigo fighting off Hollows and dealing with the consequences of becoming a Shinigami.
8. Castlevania
Castlevania should be well known to most gamers. It started out as an action adventure game in the mid ‘80’s and spawned an entire empire. In the Netflix Original Anime, we are introduced to Count Vlad Dracula Tepes, Shortly after our introduction, Vlad watches the love of his life burn at the stake for witchcraft. Full of despair, Vlad declares war on all the people of Wallachia. Trevor Belmont comes in later as the disgraced demon hunter who can’t help but do good. Personally, I’ve never played the video games (NO! I will not surrender my Geek card for missing ONE video game franchise!) but I hear it holds up pretty well.
7. Blue Exorcist
Blue Exorcist is the story of Rin Okumura who has been living the life of a normal teenager. One day, he is confronted by demons and finds out he is the son of Satan. As it turns out, Satan has been plotting to conquer Assiah, the human world. How? By possessing Rin’s body. Rin isn’t overly thrilled by this prospect, and begins training as an exorcist with his brother Yukio to defend his adoptive home world.
6. Naruto
Naruto is another classic anime tale and mainstay of any anime enthusiast. Naruto Uzumaki is a young aspiring ninja who also happens to hold the spirit of a Nine-Tails inside himself. He tries to prove himself as a powerful ninja and earn the respect of his village. He hopes one day he can become the Hokage and lead his people.
5. Fate Stay/Night
Fate Stay/Night follows Rin Tosaka and her servant Archer. The two compete against other Masters in a secret fight to the death for the Holy Grail. It sounds a lot simpler than it is. There are seven masters with seven unique servants, each with different powers, strengths, and abilities. Each wanting to secure the grail for themselves. Each willing to do whatever it takes to win.
4. Sword Art Online
Sword Art Online is many gamers dream. In the future, Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Role Playing Games are all the rage. Sword Art Online (SAO) is the best of the best. Until 10,000 players are told by the creator of the NervGear that they are trapped. They must complete all 100 levels of the games master dungeon to survive. The second season was a bit much for me, but season one is highly enjoyable for the MMO player who has always wanted to step into their favorite game.
3. Death Note
In Death Note, highly intelligent high school student and borderline sociopath Light, discovers a Shinigami’s notebook that allows him to cause the death of anyone whose name he writes in it. Light decides to use his newfound powers to rid the world of evil and tries to avoid capture by the detective assigned to stop him, L. Alternately, the Netflix original live action movie is available too!
2. Attack On Titan
Attack On Titan comes with some serious “Graphic Content” warnings. Giant beings called Titans roam the earth and rain down destruction on whatever is in their path, devouring any human slow enough to stay behind (at times in very gory detail). Eren Yeager joins the military in order to fight the Titans and keep his home safe. Lots of people die but tension runs high throughout the series. Attack on Titan keeps you consistently on the edge of your seat.
1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood centers on the sons, Edward and Alphonse Elric, of a prominent alchemist. As children, Edward and Alphonse’s mother dies and the brothers use Alchemy to try and bring her back, an act strictly forbidden by every rule and law of nature. Alphonse’s body is sacrificed in the ritual but Edward was able to spare his brothers spirit at the cost of his arm by attaching it to a suit of armor. Now, the two are on the search for the famed Philosopher’s Stone in an effort to restore Alphonse’s body.
What do you think? Have you already binged yourself on these or are you adding them to your list right now? Anything I missed? Leave me a comment and let me know!
